Have You Ever Visited Istanbul's Küçüksu Mansion?

Located in the Küçüksu district, near Anadolu Hisarı, Küçüksu Mansion was built in 1856 by Sultan Abdülmecit. Its architect was the renowned Nigoğos Balyan, who also designed Dolmabahçe Palace, for those who may not know. A 'Kasr' (Mansion) implies a building larger than a pavilion and belonged to sultans. They were generally built outside the main palace complexes. The first kasr was built by Sultan Mahmud I, and it later underwent many restoration and renovation processes. Subsequently, the current Küçüksu Mansion was built in place of the kasr demolished by Abdülmecit.

A Historical Museum

Küçüksu Mansion consists of three floors. The basement floor contains servant quarters and was also used as a kitchen. The upper floors are composed of rooms. Its layout follows the traditional house plan. We should also mention that the mansion, whose exterior was renovated by Sultan Abdülaziz, served as a guest house during the Republican era. Currently, Küçüksu Mansion operates as a museum, welcoming countless visitors. The entrance fee for Küçüksu Mansion is 2.5 Lira. You can visit it between 08:30 and 16:30, except on Mondays and Thursdays. For those who wish to relax or have a drink, we recommend visiting the cafe near the mansion and enjoying a coffee with a magnificent view of the Bosphorus.
