How to Reduce Dependence on Imports?
Products Are Expensive for the Consumer and Cheap for the Producer
Imported products are bought a lot in our country in recent years. With the decrease in domestic production, dependence on imported products is increasing day by day. Experts state that 2018 will be a difficult year for agriculture and animal husbandry. Especially in our country where seasonal transitions occur, production and agriculture need to be carried out in accordance with these transitions. The Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Livestock has started efforts to support domestic production. Steps to be taken in this regard, especially in grain, hazelnuts, vegetables, and fruits, will be announced to the public through agricultural news.
Increased Inspections Are Essential
Yes, the prices of products increase significantly from the producer to the market stalls. While the producer complains about the high cost of diesel, fertilizer, and feed, even though intermediaries cause price increases until the products reach the consumer, the main high prices are applied by the markets. In other words, we can say that the system established between the producer and the consumer is wrong from beginning to end. There is a serious price imbalance due to market dominance and high profit margins. The most important reason why products are cheap at the established distribution points is that they are bought directly from the producer and offered for sale. So there are no intermediaries, no profit margins set by companies and markets. If the system is regularly inspected, there will definitely be significant price decreases in this regard.
