Day Trip Destinations, Seven Lakes
Seven Lakes, located within the borders of National Parks in Bolu, is an indispensable destination for weekend holidaymakers. It has 7 small lakes: Sazlıgöl, İncegöl, Küçükgöl, Deringöl, Büyükgöl, Kurugöl, and Seirngöl. It is said that the lakes were formed as a result of meteor impacts.
You can visit Seven Lakes for a day trip or for camping. If you want to camp, you need to bring the necessary equipment with you. This is because the climate and accommodation conditions may increase your needs. It is recommended that campers bring flashlights, insect repellent, chalk to mark trees so as not to get lost on the paths, long-sleeved woolen clothes as it will be cold at night, a barbecue grill, a first-aid kit, and cameras. Since there are water sources everywhere, there is no water shortage.
The journey takes approximately 5 hours for those who want to go from Istanbul by their private vehicles, and it is closer for those coming from Ankara. It is advisable to drive carefully and slowly because the roads are unpaved and not very smooth. Since entry is charged, the National Parks charge a fee per person or per vehicle. For those who do not want to go by their own vehicles, you can also go with organized tours arranged by many tour companies.
